“Often, the sweeter the first fruit of habit, the more bitter are its later fruits.”
Frederic Bastiat
Instant gratification is usually detrimental to long term success.
When we eat sugar or junk food, it tastes good. We’re rewarded by its taste.
We pay the price later.
Getting dopamine hits on social media feels good, however we’re wasting time.
Short term gains lead to long term pain. And vice versa.
Delay gratification and focus on the big picture.
What long term goal do you want for your life?
Whatever that is, and you’re sure of it, then forgo any short term desires that might derail you on your journey.
Those who can delay gratification will win long term games.
