“Grit, in a word, is stamina. But it’s not just stamina in your effort. It’s also stamina in your direction, stamina in your interests.”
Angela Duckworth
Many of us are victims of shiny object syndrome.
We bounce from idea to idea in order to pursue our goals.
We get excited with new ideas, abandoning what we had been previously working on.
They say it takes 10,000 hours to master a particular skill.
How can you get those hours in if you’re constantly chasing the next new thing?
We must choose a path and stick with it to become a master.
We can pivot as time goes on of course, but generally it takes resilience and mental toughness to stick to one lane and pursue it over a long enough period of time.
That is how you win.
